Let me start off by admitting that I am an employee of Best Buy. Now that's out of the way, you can ask anybody at my store that I was probably the only one that was anticipating the product and backed it 100%. [Please read everything, not just the bad stuff] I'll start with what I hate about this product [general::product] ; I hate the hardware. There's no USB, HDMI, or any other ports other than the 3.5mm Dr. Dre Beats headphone jack. There is no rear facing camera, and the front facing camera's quality is only descent, not amazing. It's extraordinarily thick for a tablet as well. It's only two redeeming qualities are the TouchStone technology (Which some might see as a gimmick [gimmick::gimmick] ) and the incredibly beautiful screen [display::screen] . I was watching someone else's review and they described the screen as being 'painted on', and I'd have to agree with them... Except for the fact that the glossiness of the screen [display::screen] makes it hard to use [usability::hard to use] in any bright light setting. That brings me to my next point; It's REALLY glossy. I mean, the whole thing is a smudge magnet. Every time I demo it off at work, have to wipe it completely clean (front and back). I keep my microfiber cloth in my back pocket at all times. Whew! Now that I'm done complaining about it you might be wondering how could I possibly give it a four star, and to be honest, it was really hard not to give it a five star. So what do I love so much about this product that it makes up for all the bad? WebOS It doesn't run on Android. It doesn't run on iOS. It's running a relatively new Operating System made by (formally Palm) HP. Out of the box, the OS seems very enterprise driven, but after playing with it for a bit you quickly realize that it can also be used to have a little fun. The card system for multitasking is ingenious, and very intuitive [usability::intuitive] . Speed and responsiveness is unmatchable by any other tablet that I've used so far. (By the way, if you demo it in a Best Buy store, we put some demo software on it that slows it down. I assure you, the freezing problems were not there before the demo software was installed). When I first picked up the unit, I was browsing the web, switching through apps, and exploring all the extras in no time. There's no Home screen to go back to. There's no search screen to pull up. It's just you, and your applications. The card system [card system::card system] is also really easy to pick [pick::pick] up. Stacking cards, organizing cards, separating stacks, and flicking cards off the screen just seems natural. The only thing WebOS lacks, is applications, but that will come in time. [ Here's a great set [set::set] of features of WebOS: http://goo.gl/cRMR9 ] I'll close this up with HP's recent business decision. WebOS will not be treated like iOS as a one device only OS. HP has had talks about putting it on other devices as well, but it will not be like Android either. Android seems to be everywhere, on several different devices with several different version numbers. It's hard to keep up with everything in the Android world. HP hopes to keep WebOS synced across all devices by creating partnerships with whoever wants to use their OS, and not just give it out to anybody that has their hands out. If you're in the market for a Tablet, and want/need one NOW, I will absolutely recommend this one to you. If it's for you or not is all up to you. If you can stand to wait a while, do so. See what other companies pick up WebOS, and then decide who's tablet device you like more. What's great about it:  WebOS, Easy to use [usability::easy to use] , Fast, Adobe Flash, VPN, TouchStone What's not so great:  Lack of ports, Smudge magnet, Glossy screen, Camera I would recommend this to a friend!

I'm glad I did and am enjoying how easy it truely is to set-up right out of the box took seconds really. Short and simple its lacking apps, if you use your old user palm profile and try to use some of the less than perfect apps for the original pre on Sprint it might make it go FREEZE>yes it happen to me, so I called and basically that's probably what happened. OK now after a day or so of using it with the latest apps and deleting some of the suspects old apps its kicking on all cilinders and WebOs is so smooth and dare I say sexy (even without the back swipe). I recommend it. Apps are comming!!! I don't need 1 million apps for how to find a restaurant, just core apps.

This is faster than any other tablet out there, the reviewers are full of it. I want to see someone with an ipad open 6 apps at once, open angry birds let the bird fly, pause in mid-air, look back at the other apps which have all loaded in the background, and then continue with the bird. Can't be done on anything but the TouchPad! Great device [device::device] ! What's great about it:  The GUI, the way the OS works. What's not so great:  Fingerprints, but Rain-x can fix that. Pros: Interface [interface::interface] , Just Type feature [feature set::features] , Multitasking, STEREO SPEAKER (BEATS AUDIO), HP SYNERGY, You can answer your freaking phone and text messages on the tablet, PRICE! Seriously, this tablet is no joke. Sure Ipad and galaxy are nice, but mark my words. the next Cons: NONE...... Summary: I looked around for a long time at tablets and read the blogs and Cnet articles and thank god I waited. This HP touchpad is amazing [hp touchpad::the * is good] ! I have also read that HP is also planning to make WebOS printers that will allow you to flick a photo or doc to the printer and the printer will print it out. HP invented the word Innovation lol. I tired of hearing about apple this and Apple that. Watch any Steve Jobs or Steve Wozniak video on you tube and see who they were looking up to, when they were in College. Mr. David Packard and Bill Hewlett. they both worked at HP in the 60's as interns for goodness sake. Apple is a great product and a great company, but don't EVER count out HP. they do own the computer market and the printer market, wonder how they did that hmmmmm?

Pros: Operating system [operating system::operating system] , speed [speed::speed] , ease of use. Has almost all the apps that people use in the catalog already. Cons: Could be a little lighter, but that's my complaint about all tablets in the market daoy. Summary: To the person who said idiots, it isn't out yet...some of us are insiders who were able to receive it before release date. Overall, I have to say this is GREAT tablet [tablets::tablets] . Much better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab and on the same level as the iPad. Don't get fooled by the apps numbers game...truth is, MOST apps (and I literally mean more than 50%) on the Android and Apple market are garbage...the HP catalog has all the apps you need, and new ones are being added all the time. Since it supports flash, I get my Hulu and Netflix through PlayOn. HOT!

Pros: OS [operating system::os] is pretty slick, multitasks better than iPad (but not on par with the Blackberry playbook), calendar app has a lot of good potential [potential::potential] , built in apps are well designed [design::design] Cons: Slow, slow, slow. There are times the TouchPad is simply not responsive. Why do I have to click an icon to get to other icons? I'm not too thrilled with this OS design choice. The form factor is a little bulky. It feels cheap and heavy - not a great Summary: What is actually a slick OS with nifty features [feature set::features] , cool multitasking [operating system::multitasking] features, and what seems like a good display is ruined by very slow and unresponsive [usability::unresponsive] performance. You will click the calendar app, wait 5 seconds to load, then click from daily view to weekly view, wait a few seconds, etc.... it's frustrating to use. The apps are well designed and look great - but it seems like they are overdesigned for the hardware. I don't like some of the navigation features, and I found it a bit confusing to close apps in multitasking mode. All in all, it feels too cheap and works too slowly to become a serious choice - skip this one.

HP's TouchPad arrived on the scene in the midst of a tablet revolution. What sets [set::set] this amazing device [device::device] apart from the field [fields::fields] is simple: WebOS combined with world class design finishing. Its the operating system of WebOS, built on Linux, that beats out Android by Google,iOS by Apple and Windows mobile, by Microsoft, isnt really even in the mix as a contendor anymore. WebOs is more dynamic and functional on a tablet and phone plus its vision, forged by HP, will result in this same operating system WebOs ending up on your desktop in early 2012. The concept of an app and what these cool programs [applications::programs] do for us has morphed into access to the full internet, something Apple iPad owners simply cant do. The web and all things web seem to flow faster and more simple on the TouchPad. Having true multitasking is huge and tying my email to my social media acts was a breeze with WebOs born to do these functions and synch up to my HP phone like nothing else What's great about it:  WebOS and Wireless Charging What's not so great:  app store has just begun publishing touchpad apps I would recommend this to a friend!

The HP TouchPad is running WebOS as it's operating System. The OS is years ahead of the leading tablet platforms such as Android (3.1), iOS (4). There are several advantages and differentiators that set it above Google and Apple's OS. Here are my 3 favorites: 1. Multi-Tasking Cards On a desktop computer we have multiple windows open on the web, a music player on the bottom and in the background some downloaded files. On the iPad and Android tablets we have no such thing. This is one of my favorite features [feature set::features] of Web OS and the TouchPad. It organizes my work flow [flow::flow] better than the PC with it's multiple cards on screen and background processing. 2. Touch-To-Share Traditionally if we wanted to share something between two devices we would go through a complicated blue tooth process. We would wait to connect, pair look for devices just to send something as small as a picture or link. Then we started emailing these things. With the TouchPad, all you have to do is touch your phone and the information is sent wirelessly. Automatically. 3. HP Synergy It's about cutting clutter. Why have three websites open and your calendar to see what your day looks like? With HP Synergy, calendar is just one way to bring your life together into one view. There's lots more great things to like about the TouchPad. I would highly recommend over the Samsung Tab or Apple iPad 2! What's great about it:  Intuitive [usability::intuitive] , Smooth, Multi-Tasking, Camera What's not so great:  Scratches easily. No 3G, Glossy Screen I would recommend this to a friend!

There is a single broad, overarching reason I really like this tablet [tablets::tablets] after playing with it for a few hours. It is elegant. It is refined. It does some common, basic things beautifully, unlike the others - be they android or iPad. The rest - Facebook, Kindle, thousands of apps - they will happen, but its the core device that I truly like. If the core device is rough, no amount of apps can fix that fundamental goof. So what is more elegant? What is more refined? 1. The very first thing is the charging system. The Touchpad charges very simply; you just slide it it into its dock. You slip it in, it charges. Like Apple says, it just works. No futzing with wires, jacks and other crude methods that have not changed in the past fifty years. Even the big Kahuna, the ipad, has a wire that you turn this way and that, trying to ram it into the socket one way or the other. With the Touchpad, you simply slip it into the stand, and you are done. ipad, Android, what have you - find the connector, find the wire, line them up, twist the wire around to be sure its aligned, re-twist it, push it in, twist again if you got it wrong.... Is it that big a deal? Totally. When you have to charge it every couple of days, fumbling with wires and jacks gets boring really fast. (How do I know? From trying to charge my wife's ipad and failing half the time because the socket never really fitted right.) 2. Notifications. If you get an email in the middle of reading a webpage, for example, The iPad interrupts whatever you are doing, and blares out the notification right in the middle of the screen, right in your face - as if I would miss it if was done quietly off to the side. The Touchpad is far more refined - the notifications come up on the top. If it is an email, it will update in the background, and if the tablet is sleeping, the home button gently glows. The iPad/Androids are crude and uncouth in comparison. Is this a big deal? Once again, to me, yes it is. When I am reading a book, the last thing I want is to be interrupted by a BIG notification blob in the middle of the page telling me I have got a text message. Say it quietly on the side - and I will get to it. 3. Apps handling. How on earth can you even deal with the gauche way apps are handled in current tablets? To open one app, you have to close the other. Ugh. Its like having to lock your bedroom before you go to the bathroom. Then lock the bathroom when you get back to the bedroom. I like leaving the rooms in my house open, so I can walk about them freely. I like leaving apps open, going from one to the other effortlessly. Does Apple seriously want anyone to believe that their way - one app at a time - is a good way to run multiple apps? And the more apps there are, the more you have to do the shut/open routine. Whats the use of a million apps if, to use one, you have to shut down the previous one? Not to say that the Touchpad has its shortcomings. The software needs some more work, the screen rotation could use a bit of tweaking (update July 2nd - screen rotation seems to have worked itself out today - works well now), it could lose a bit of weight. But the way I see it is that the engineers who worked on the Touchpad had real focus on refinement and attention to detail. If that attitude persists, they will get there in a bit. The Android crew are all about getting a boatload of stuff out the door. And Apple is about incredible marketing and selling their kool-aid. I wish their attention to detail was as refined as their attention to marketing.

Forget what some of these so called professional reviewers say, and try one for yourself. If you are dissatisfied w/ ios or android, or are new to the mobile market, this is a refreshing alternative. What's great about it:  webos, multitasking, sms/calls on tablet, just type What's not so great:  day 1 bugs, but normal and will get over the air fixes I would recommend this to a friend!

I'm an admitted mac guy, I have the iPhone 4, iPad, Macbook Pro, etc... I have to share my support now with the HP TouchPad. The webOS 3.0 is really pretty amazing. I didn't think it would make much of a difference in the use of a tablet, but it's outstanding, and here's why: 1) The integration of so many mainstream services used today. (they probably have some fancy term for this concept) 2) Flash plays well 3) Services missing on the iPad like Grooveshark and Amazon's cloud music all work. First, the services: On my TouchPad, I setup my Email (yahoo, google, and microsoft exchange) Skype Dropbox AIM LinkedIn Facebook (there were others, but I don't use snapfish, and photobucket, etc... even a 'find others') I love this integration of all these mainstream services! It's really clever. While my iPad seems very app-centric, webOS 3.0 feels more like 'the matrix has you'. It takes your online world and puts it into the tablet. I love that. All of those websites I often interact with get glued together seamlessly so I feel like I'm 'jacked in'. A major strength of the TouchPad is the web functionality that won't work on the iPad. For example, I ran Amazon's cloud music player and Grooveshark just fine (awesome!). On the down side, the apps are slim, but trust me, they will be coming fast and furious over the next year, like a modern-age gold rush. As someone who has ported over my C++ game engine and product ( atPeace ) to TouchPad from IOS, I can tell you that it was pretty easy, and others will certainly follow. This version 1 of the product is the closest any tablet is to competing with Apple, developers will soon be pouring over. My only real gripe is not having NetFlix working with it yet. That's coming I'm sure, but something I use on my iPad a lot, and I miss. :( All in all, I'd say if you want something for business, or to have a tablet built around your online presence, or just a good tablet [tablets::tablets] which can run flash, this might be for you. I still love my iPad, don't get me wrong, but for a long time I didn't see why anyone was realistically imagining they could compete with the iPad. I mean, Apple does it sooooo well. Well, now I understand why. WebOS 3.0. Don't discount this device, it's got great potential [potential::potential] . We finally a good competitor for Apple in the tablet world, which should make both products improve.

Pros: the multitasking [operating system::multitasking] and built in [build quality::built in] apps are really very good quality and very quick [quick::quick] and easy to use [usability::easy to use] . There are over 40000 apps for the ipad and over 100000 for the android but none have the ability to elegantly multitask or have the equivalent of synergy for e Cons: I agree that it lacks apps and the os at times can be just a little sluggish. No more than android or ipad though. I Hope the next Os update will improve the video playback [video quality::video playback] , add video and camera capture and speed up picture loading. They're not bad, but n Summary: Excellent [general::summary: good] entry and alternative to what's out there. Very nicely integrated 'web window' ... It's clear to me why it's called a webos. Make sure you learn the small number of key navigation features and your experience will be likely similar to mine. Once you do you will likely never have to touch the mechanical home button.... It's all quick gestures , multitasking and near complete integration of all your communication portals beautifully done.

I have used an iPhone for going on two years and I don't see that changing for quite awhile, but I was always leery of the iPad because I always thought it was just a big iPod Touch, with a better screen. Well I started to look for a tablet about 5 months ago, and thought for sure, after the big uproar about the iPad 2, that I would have one soon. Well after trying in store several times, I just wasnt blown away. It just took my iPhone bigger, it didnt introduce anything new, it didn't change anything, the UI, had some slight modifications, and apps did look better on a bigger screen, but it wasn't nothing that blew away. Then came the touchpad. First I saw the commercial, then I found out about the open source movement inside of WebOS, and how unlike Apple, there was no cat and mouse games, Palm didn't support it, but didn't block it. I saw the UI, it was much appealing than Android, which to me looks chaotic and not the clean simplicity [simplicity::simplicity] that we all come to expect from a google product. Although it wasn't as 'nice' looking as iOS, and it didn't run as smooth as it, WebOS made up for it with true multitasking [operating system::multitasking] , and a clean enough looking UI to make an iOS lover happy. Then came the specs, full web access, web developers no longer need to build a site just for the device, the device can handle anything you through at it. It has been an experience for me, who has had to manage which sites I could view on my portable [usability::portable] device and which ones I *had* to view on my pc, now my touchpad takes care of all of it. But enough about the pros, because there is some cons. Apps are limited compared to iOS (Not a huge con for me, give me a working Twitter client, an email client, and a couple games, and I'm happy, but I'm not everyone). The OS, has some flaws, which may be more to me learning to using the device than anything else, but the flaws are there. It seems sluggish from time to time, but an OTA update coming out soon should fix that. And it does need some improvement when it comes to handling documents, this maybe more of a personal presence but I feel any tablet should be able to handle any microsoft doc you throw at it. All in all, I love my touchpad, and see me using it more than my iPhone for most things. The flaws are there, but are very fixable, and I have faith in HP to fix them soon.

I'd lost my Sprint Android EPIC 4G 2 weeks ago at a water park . My co-worker, now on Verizon, has a Pre 2, gave me his old Sprint Pre to use until I can replace my EPIC. Initially, I laughed as the phone as it felt cheap, out-dated, and with only 8 gig. Two weeks later, I still think the old Pre phone by Palm was cheaply built -- But people listen up; WebOS is so manageable, it's so easy to use [usability::easy to use] , and effortlessly took me minutes to setup my profile on facebook, emails, and on App store. I'm hooked on it's notification system (missed calls, incoming texts, facebook's posts, and emails are easily viewed) and it's ability to truly multi-task. Right now, I'm confused, while I love the Android hardware, its operating system is not as REFINED or SIMPLE when compared to WebOS. I've always had Android phones and have also recently purchased an use 16 gig IPAD for reading, surfing the net, facebook, and playing chess. If WebOS (HP now) can provide me with a better quality phone than I'll never look back. If the Touchpad works in the same fashion than I may consider the move from my IPAD as well. Just have to wait and see once it's released. Amazing, two weeks ago, never heard of or used a WebOS ........today, I'm hooked. LOL What's great about it:  Easy to use [usability::easy to use] , Well refined, Great Notification system, Friendly user [user quality::user] What's not so great:  The old Pre was chaeply built, and Apps store lacks apps I would recommend this to a friend!

HP's TouchPad runs an operating system called webOS. webOS is NOT based on Android. It is based on the system that Palm developed internally before HP bought them in 2010. It allows true multitasking, runs Flash [flash::flash] with no problems at all and is backed by the global power of HP. Go to YouTube and type 'get to know HP TouchPad' for more information. I would seriously recommend it over Android tablets without hesitation. Right now, it doesn't have as many Apps as iOS (Apple iPad), but it certainly has more tablet-optimized apps than Android's Honeycomb tablet system, and they are high quality apps. It will be available in retail on July 1st. What's great about it:  Elegant OS [operating system::os] , some say it's the best in the market, Runs Flash, Multitasking, Synergy, Backed by the trusted name of HP What's not so great:  Initially, not as many apps, but they are coming. The Touchpad is definitely an intuitive [usability::intuitive] , beautiful, and powerful multi-tasking beast of a tablet [tablets::tablets] with excellent full [full::full] web experience. It is a great one to have and here are my reasons. I have been looking to buy a tablet for awhile (around 6 months), and looked at the iPad 2, Blackberry Playbook and Galaxy Tab. I seriously considered the iPad 2 and Galaxy Tab but decided not to pull the trigger because the iPad could not handle multiple operations effectively (multi-task), did not sync all the information easily, and did not play Flash websites. Not playing Flash meant that I could not login my bank account and FinanceWorks (an online tool provided by my bank that allows you to see your whole financial picture in one view). I loved the light hardware, games and responsiveness of the iPad, but the things it could not do where deal breakers for me. The Galaxy Tab was another serious contender for me because it had a very light harware but the Android operating system [operating system::operating system] was not as intuitive [usability::intuitive] as I would like, and I would have to take multiple steps to do basic things. Basically it was too StarTrek for me. When I started researching the WebOS Touchpad, I loved the way the WebOS operating system [operating system::operating system] was very intuitive, beautiful and easy to use but then the first reviews came out and I will be honest, I was very worried that I would have to delay buying a tablet. I decided to come to Best Buy and take it for a test drive so to speak before making a final decision, and boy, I am very glad I did. The Touchpad is a very very good tablet [tablets::tablets] . Is it perfect? No but it is the best tablet [tablets::tablets] for me. The WebOS operating system is the deal seller! The Touchpad automatically syncs all my FaceBook accounts (messages, pictures, and everything), LinkedIn business contacts, Work Email, Personal Email, and our Family Calendar into 1 integrated system called Synergy. I can choose to view my information from one source but I also have the ability to see how my various schedules affect my day. For example from one calendar, I can easily view my work meetings, personal meetings, and home family calendar in one view. The calendar also lets me know how much time I have between my different events. I also love that the Touchpad allows me to easily and quickly multi-task, I can easily move between Email, Webpages, FaceBook, Games, Movies, and Documents very easily. The browser is also Flash enabled and this means that I can actually login my bank account and use FinanceWorks just like I do on a regular computer! Another thing I should point out is that the Touchpad has a dummy proof feature called JustType. You can go almost anything by just typing. For example, let’s say you want to post something to FaceBook or Twitter, you can simply type the information and JustType will give you the option to post it to FaceBook by clicking a button. You no longer have to scroll and search for the Facebook App before you post information. You could use JustType for composing Email, Twitter updates, and searching information on the Web. Another important feature is that Touchpad allows you to add your own search portal into the system. So for example, let’s say you frequently search for information in your local newspaper, twitter or you company search portal, you can use JustType for this. I was also surprised when I found out that the Touchpad comes with 50 GB of Free Cloud storage from Box.net for the life of the device. What this means is that from my computer I can store documents, pictures, etc to the Cloud and I can get access to these files from the Touchpad. Very neat feature [feature set::features] ! The hardware is also very capable, the screen is a Gorrilla glass and the camera is 1.3 megapixels which is better that the VGA front camera for the iPad2. You can also answer calls on your Touchpad as they come in from your phone. You can also call and video conference with friends on Skype. It also has the best tablet [tablets::tablets] speakers that I have heard from the other tablets [tablets::tablets] While the Touchpad is very good [touchpad::the * is very good] , it can improve in certain areas. The Touchpad is not as thin or light as the iPad2 or Galaxy Tab but it is definitely not as bulky as some of the reviews said. The Touchpad also weighs a little more than the Galaxy Tab and iPad2, but it is not as bad as others have said. I did notice that occasionally the Touchpad lags for a few seconds, and I am glad that HP have said that they will be fixing this with over the air updates in the coming weeks after the Touchpad launches. The Touchpad also does not have an HDMI out port which could be useful for watching movies on the TV from your Touchpad. I also forget the back of the device is Glossy and is a fingerprint magnet. I would suggest you buy a Touchpad cover to prevent the back from scratching and protect the screen. What's great about it:  WebOS, Synergy, JustType, Full Web with Flash/HTML 5,Answer calls and read text message,Wireless Charging, Cloud Storage What's not so great:  Delayed Kindle and Movie App, A little heavy, Ocassional Lagging I would recommend this to a friend!

The HP webOS tablet is great [operating system::the * is good] and I'm super happy [general::i m very happy] with my decision to get this over the iPad. A few points I considered are below: 1) The multi-tasking is fantastic [operating system::the * is good] ... seeing open apps open in different cards and swiping them left or right to switch is soooo much nicer than iPad's double-click technique where you can't see anything. iPad works like this: Home screen, app, home screen, app, home screen app... annoying. TouchPad works like this: app, other open app, other open app, launch new app, other open app, etc... No back and forth with the home screen. 2) Try this..... Start writing an email, pause, open your address book or map app or photo app or anything else, look up some info, go back to email and finish. No problem on the TouchPad, just swipe it over and use the other apps. On the iPad, once you start writing the email, your stuck! You either discard, save draft, or finish. Not possible to go check other info (addresses, etc..) and then go back to the in-process email... Annoying. 3) HP TouchPad - want to skype? no prob. want to use multiple messenger apps? no prob. want to use a great TABLET [tablets::tablets] facebook app? yep, its here (no tablet facebook app on iPAD). iPad is locked down. You use their stuff (facetime, chat, itunes, etc...) That's fine, but webOS gives you the flexibility to use a variety of solutions, not just apples. 4) Synergy - I'm pretty technical so can get my email and calendars set-up via pop, imap, activesync, etc... However, with TouchPad and Synergy, ANYONE can do it - it is a piece of cake. Makes the iPad set-up look complicated (for example, iPad you still need to enter activesync or http settings just to set up a Hotmail account). With TouchPad, you just enter your email address for Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL, yes, even MobileMe, and the TouchPad sets it up for you, and then gives you the option to select which functionality to turn on for each account. I've got 3 active sync hotmail accounts (by the way, iOS only supports one exchange based account), with email, address book, tasks, and calendar turned on, 1 google account with email, calendar, contacts, and docs turned on, 1 yahoo account with email only (my choice), etc... Plus i've got my work exchange account set-up. Piece of cake. 5) Consolidated views of your personal data. Calendar for example gives me the option to view all events in day/week/month and i can choose to show all calendars or just work or just hotmail 1 and 3 and yahoo and work or just gmail and work, etc... Flexible and powerful. Same with address book, you can see consolidated views of your contacts, or just the accounts you want. Include Facebook and Linked in contacts, or not. Up to you. Great. 6) Flexible cloud integration - in addition to the above personal data, the TouchPad automatically can sync with and integrates with DropBox, Google Docs, Box, etc.... By integrates with, i mean its actually built into existing apps like adobe reader or quickoffice. Simple set-up. Tight integration. No seperate apps required. Nice. 7) Apps. Yes, iPad and iPhone have like 350,000 apps. How many do you use? I use about 70 myself. webOS has like 6,000 and about 300 tablet specific (FYI - when iPad first launched, it had 70 tablet specific, Android's been out for about 1 year and has 200 tablet specific currently!). So, the apps will come. I've got Kindle, Facebook, HP's movie store, Amazon MP3, weather, traffic, maps, navigation, some kids books, theater,, magazines, etc... HP's obviously making a huge commitment to webOS so even more are coming rapidly. The app store continues to show new submissions every hour so i'm checking frequently. 8) Flash... Well, flash is kind of a lightening rod. I can say that when using an iPad (had one for a couple weeks before i returned [returns::returns] it), it was SUPER ANNOYING [general::, * is very bad] to come across a web site that wouldn't function because it used flash. TouchPad - no problem. I can watch videos, have full drop down menus and actually be able to select drop down links!, etc... Say what you want about flash support - but when you are away from a pc and the iPad refuses to let you click a flash link it makes you think what a complete waste it is - i bought a $500 iPad to surf the web and i can't even check this friggin site? TouchPad - same site, works [reliability::works] like a charm. 9) Lots of other cool stuff, wireless charging, sync to webOS phones by tapping the phone to the tablet, etc... Happy to share more thoughts as i continue to use it or answer any questions, but hands down, this is the best tablet [tablets::tablets] out there. What's great about it:  Hands down best tablet [tablets::tablets] on the market What's not so great:  Can get smudgy.... so i wipe it clean. I would recommend this to a friend!

Pros: It has WEBOS! Beautiful design [design::design] , HP Synergy, multitasking, enterprise apps, not stuck in the Apple bubble Cons: No Rear-Facing camera [general::cameras] , no video capture or video output Summary: Do not let the Apple lovers scare you away with the 'there's no apps' talk. Why would you want a big store with 80% crap compared to a small store with 80% amazing apps? The good ones are available on the touchpad with more coming down the pipe. HP has plenty of power to get developers on board as they've already shown. The OS is spotless [operating system::the * is good] . There just isn't a more intuitive [usability::intuitive] or beautiful OS [operating system::os] out there. Mine isn't having the sluggish performance of other's but HP will have an OTA update soon that fixes almost all the initial problems (document editing will be in the new update too). HP Synergy allows you to have all your different media accounts in one place. Plus if you have a pre (like me!) all your calls and texts work on it too. It doesn't feel cheap to me. And anyone complaining about .3 inches of thickness or .4 lbs is a chump because its not noticeable. This tablet is for a technophile not some tween who needs apple to hold their hand.

Just two hours out of the box and I am very happy [general::i am very happy] with my HP Touchpad. Wanting to rule out buyers remorse, I tried the Ipad 2 and the Acer Iconia (android honeycomb) tablets recently to be sure I would know what I was comparing. The Ipad is very nice, no argument there, but I understood why people complain about the closed Apple system. There was little cross platform functionality with the Ipad. I was much less impressed with the android tablet. Things just didn't seem to work right, some apps didn't work because I had the 'wrong' android device, and there didn't really seem to be all that many apps for an adroid tablet, rather they were mostly for android phones. As far as the touchpad goes, the only complaint I could give is the lack of apps. However, that can be expected right now, and I hope to see many apps coming soon. The look and feel of the touchpad is very nice [touchpad::the * is very good] . Other reviews made it sound like it would be a big brick, but I barely notice that it is a little thicker than the Ipad, and it feels very nice in my hands. In a week or two I'll have the HP Case, and I won't have any worries about finger prints. Fingerprints on the Ipad screen were just as much of an issue, and I find myself needed to wipe it clean occassionally. As for the back, no concerns there. Here's to HP doing a great job with their first WebOS pad out of the gate, and looking forward to the apps that will be coming.

I travel regularly for work and as such have a lot of down time in places where a full laptop is not convenient to use but a tablet works out well. Examples of this would be: time riding in rental cars, taxis, and public transport traveling to and from my home, airports, and client locations, time spent waiting for flights in airports (even nicer during delays!), the flights themselves (in-flight internet makes this really nice!), and the time I spend relaxing in my hotel room and don't really want to spend in front of the laptop I have been working on all day. As I work in a technical field with specialized software requirements I must have a laptop with me no matter what tablet I choose so my tablet choice does not have to do everything my laptop does, it just needs to keep me entertained and informed. Email, web browsing (full desktop pages with Flash!), Facebook, Twiiter, kindle reading, games, videos, and music are what I need, the Touchpad can handle all that and webOS does it so much nicer than any other tablet out there, I should know as I also own an iPad and an Android tablet.

Hardware has been hit [hits::hits] pretty bad in the press and for the most part they are right. The touchpad is a bit on the thick/heavy side. But not too much. Its still perfectly usable and comfortable [usability::comfortable] to hold. Very similar in weight to holding the first iPad. The glossy plastic back was a bad choice. Don't worry too much about the plastic -it certainly doesn't look cheap. In person it looks like a high-end device. The WebOS on a tablet is just about perfect. Super easy to multi-task [operating system::multi-tasking] . Easy to close apps. Easy to understand immediately. The responsiveness is great [operating system::the * is good] . There are a few bugs but running into them was rare. This is a fast device. Nothing like the palm minus or palm pixi. Apps? Yep, its needs more. It also needs more services integrated with synergy. And what's with older palm devices not working with the bluetooth/txt message hookup? Would it kill you guys to throw the loyals that bought a palm minus a bone? A bone worth more than $50? I was tempted by the Samsung 10.1 while I was shopping for tabs at Best Buy. The hardware on the 10.1 is really sweet, super thin and high-end. But, I didn't figure out honeycomb right away. In fact I kept trying to swipe up from the bottom of the screen (kudos blackberry for stealing that). Google+ and the new gmail design [design::design] look amazing so why does honeycomb look like a cheap game of 80s lazer tag? I think its safe to say that WebOS is much easier to use [usability::easy to use] and looks better to boot. And that's what we want from a tablet right? Easy to use [usability::easy to use] , content consumption etc. And the HP Touchpad giveth very muchth. Thin out that hardware HP and start paying developers more for apps.

The first review on this product is a completely untrue. The operating systems Android and HP WebOS are based on linux but they are not the same OS. WebOS is not built to lock you nor is Android. Both OS's have merit and you should pick up each tablet at the store and decide which is right for you. For me it is WebOS for a few reasons. Open and friendly developer [developer::developer] relations. A enthusiastic and dedicated home brew development community Home brew developers are dedicated to the integrity of the OS (no piracy) Fantastic community [community::community] sites (android has these as well) An eco system that is flexible and built to grow True multi tasking As I said above go to the store play with the devices pick the one that is best for you. While it's not usually my habit to write reviews on products I haven't received yet, the HP TouchPad is a deserving product. I've played with one already quite extensively. I also have an HP Veer and know webOS backwards and forwards. The TouchPad is the best competitor to the iPad, bar-none. Its only perceived weakness is relatively fewer apps, though it will definitely have all of the big hitters that the majority of users need right around launch and more importantly, this thing will be a multitasking beast. To the folks who have waited this long to get a tablet because they're unsure of their capabilities thus far ... THIS IS YOUR TABLET! :) What's great about it:  HP webOS is gorgeous, easy to use [usability::easy to use] , and powerful. Hardware quality. After reading a bunch of reviews from writers online, I felt skeptic about the HP Touchpad. Many complaints on buggy software. But I still had to go see it for myself. I own the iPad2 and just sold my iPad1. Also, I have the Galaxy Tab 7' and a Palm Pre. Although thicker than my iPad2 the Touchpad looked sexy. iPad 2 is thinner but the edges [build quality::edges] are sharp and the Touchpad's beveled edges makes it more comfortable [usability::comfortable] to hold. As I opened up the Apps, (along with 4 other people looking over my shoulder) we counted how many seconds it would take to open and some took only 2 seconds while others took 4 seconds. The email sliding windows [applications::windows] worked [reliability::works] great and impressive. The device did lag a few times but demo downloads were in progress and that could be the reason why. Maps did not work [reliability::did not work] . If there are bugs, I'm sure the over-the-air updates will fix them. I must say that the user experience was amazing [general::the * is good] . You can really fly from one app to another with ease once they are open and this really outshines the multitasking on the iPad2. I will be getting my Touchpad delivered in the next few days and I'm EXCITED! What's great about it:  The Touchpad has many features the iPad2 cannot do. Multitasking monster. Beveled edges are sexy. What's not so great:  Lags sometimes but I'm betting it's a temporary problem I would recommend this to a friend!

The TouchPad (WiFi) arrives in the midst of quite a battle--scan your local retailer's shelves and you'll find nearly a dozen tablets vying for attention and share. It's doubtful this entry will induce any iPad owners or Apple households to lean in a new direction. That's unfortunate, but not unanticipated for a first shot in the war for HP. They are jumping into a much bigger undertaking than just launching this one (Ok, 16 + 32 GB = Two) device however. They are planning a full-on Normandy landing with webOS at the front lines. A 7' tablet is expected in Sept/Oct (pre Christmas season...) and they have a full stable of follow-on devices using the soon-to-be-ubiquitous webOS planned. THAT is the perspective that will matter, in time, to future purchasers. For now, HP has a solid competitor that outshines all Android tablets on most fronts, an incredibly powerful OS, and a growing (slowly? We'll see) developer base. Other reviews have pointed out bugs/glitches in software likely to be quickly addressed (Calendar issues, Quickoffice missing editing, now and then long pause 'hangs', ...see PreCentral.net) but the overwhelming impression [impression::impression] with this bad boy is of a great computing partner. It will be in my bag and on my desk... I would recommend this to a friend!

Coming from an HP family, i've always looked at apple from afar with mixed feelings. I know it's a good product, but it's always appeared more gimmicky and ad-driven, and that has always turned me off. Still I was ready to buy it last week. I had the money and I was ready to justify it as the only thing close to meeting my work needs. Then it happened... I received the email saying that the touchpad had arrived! I ran out the next day (yesterday), walked over to the ipad briefly, picked it up, put it down, then walked over to the HP touchpad. WONDERFUL!!! I like the weight- doesn't feel like a toy. I hate that all the apps aren't in yet- but I can wait. The screen [display::screen] is easier to touch and move-which has always been a problem for me with apple...the screen doesn't stay touch friendly. Finally, i'm typing on the pad right now, and the feel is incredible [build quality::the * is good] . I have a good grasp of it, and I really like it. i'm also unhappy that best buy did not have accessories on hand (dock, case), and the idea of having to wait five weeks pisses me off. Now would be great time to see if my HP relatives could speed Ot up, right? Wrong. We have to wait too. still, it's great product [general::product] , and i'm happy to avoid paying into apples sharp ad campaign. Oh, one more thing...there people here who give excellent reviews based on a level of computer literacy that I don't even pretend to have. If you're like me, and jus want something that is nice and it does what you need it to do, then this is it. You see, part of apples appeal is the simplicity for those who don't feel they need to be so computer saavy, but I promise you, the touchpad is whAt you'll want, And before you know it,you'll find yourself wanting learn more! There is NOTHING on the market that can compare to this tablet. I was able to get my hands on this at a conference, and my eyes were truly amazed. Beautiful screen [display::screen] , flawless multitasking [operating system::multitasking] ( it never froze or lagged!!!), and I was actually amazed amount the number of apps that were available.....There were litterally thousands apon thousands, and the music store and video store is insanely huge!!! All i had to do was type in something on the search par and it searched the web AND the device!!! AND I can the calendar with Google Calendar, and my Outlook calendar!! There was Quick Office and Google Docs already instaled on it so I can do all my docs, spreadsheets, and presentations!! Since I have an HP printer less than 5 years old...I can print directly from it! I can synce all my email accounts too....including my work email the uses Microsoft Exchange, and the email program is SOOO much better and more natural than the iPad. The internet is very fast and....I can actually see an entire webpage (unlike iPaad) sicne it has Flash...and HTML5 (which increases speed by untilizing hardware exceleration), and to my knowledge its the only tablet with the new HTML5 support This is a small things, but HUGE in my eyes. The demo unit I got to try recieved an email while I was browsing the internet and I got a small notification on the top right corner letting me know. It was a quick way to get my attention of the email. The ipad basicaly stops you on what your doing and fills the screen with a notification, which is sooo intrusive. And then there were three: It really will be interesting to see who the big winners will be in a year or two, but here's my take in an attempt to help mitigate some of the confusion with all the Tabs out now. The review below will focus on the 3 big winners so far, in our opinion: iPad2 for Apple, the Galaxy 10.1 for Android (see my review on its page), and the TouchPad for WebOS. Which to go with? Read on... Issue 1: Should my cell phone brand impact which Tablet I buy: Our Take: Yes. Stay with your brand and you will reap great rewards. Switch and you'll lose lots. WebOS Benefits: The Touchpad and Palm Pre 3 which offer some truly powerful integration. Not only can you simply touch the Palm Pre to the Touchpad to sync screens and 'take it with you' but the Touchpad can access 3g easily with the Palm Pre. Bye Bye monthly fees. Cool, too, is the ability to print wirelessly to HP wireless printers. Apple Benefits: iCloud service allows you to over-the-air sync your photos, music, movies etc. with ALL of your iOS 5 devices. And apps purchased for your iPhone sync (for free) to your iPad. very cool. Android Benefits: Similar to WebOS, the Galaxy 10.1 can tether to many Android phones, such as the Droid X for FREE 3G. Also, any apps you download(ed) on your droid phone can be freely added to the Galaxy Tab. The Winner: None here, it really depends on which powerful integration benefits you want/need. But don't make the mistake of having one brand for phone and another for Tablet. You're going to really be losing out on some key features if you do that. Issue 2: The Apps Our Take: Apple, Apple, Apple but for how long? The bottom line is that you get a Tab for the Apps, so any review downplaying its importance make me skeptical of who the author is. I'm no Apple geek, but we have to be honest: Apple is way ahead of the game here so that if you NEED an TABLET right now, meaning Summer 2011, your App experience is going to be much better with iPad. That doesn't mean I think you should buy an iPad, it just means that for the FULL experience of the TouhcPad (or Galaxy), you're going to have to wait. I do believe the apps are coming, I really do, so if you are patient [customer support::are patient] , you will have a great experience [general::experience] in 6 months or a year or two. But you have to consider that newer/better/cheaper devices will be out by then. So if you definitely want a TouchPad I'd wait until that happens. If you NEED one NOW, then just understand that you're NOT going to have the full experience just yet. You will have the biggies like facebook etc, but you will miss other apps, for sure. This really is not a concern for those of you who just want the TouchPad for browsing or music/pics/Facebook/Twitter/etc. One word of caution: although we do believe apps are coming, we don't believe ALL THREE Tab systems will last. There has to be one (or two) winners. We all know Apple will be around, and now that Android has developed such a major following and has proven its ability to make up huge ground in the phone App market, we do have some serious concern that WebOS COULD --COULD-- be at a disadvantage in apps. If they can't make up ground quickly, the way Android did with Apple, there is a danger that its appstore will never materialize. And that will kill the TouchPad. We'll see, but it is a point of concern worth noting. WebOS is, after all, third in line, here. The Winner: iPad2/Apple (for now). Issue 3: The Hardware and Specs The whole point of creating a tablet was portability and carrying ease. I mean, we had laptops, and those seemed easy enough, but the Tablet improved upon even that to make an easier and more practical experience. So, I personally believe that .5 lb difference in weight is a HUGE difference in portability of a Tablet. The Galaxy just feels wonderful. It's like carrying a light but sturdy clipboard. Like the general in Color War. The iPad2 is ALMOST as sleek, just a drop heavier, but you can feel the difference. The TouchPad is bulky, like a light textbook. If the difference in weight doesn't matter to you, you can safely ignore this. But I'd suggest going to a store and picking up and holding all three. I smiled when I picked up the Galaxy Tab, was very satisfied when I lifted the iPad2, and was kind of like 'whoa, that's pretty heavy' when I lifted the Touchpad. We should also point out that TouchPad's wireless [wireless::wireless] dock charging is very cool and innovative but the Galaxy's screen resolution seemed the most impressive and brilliant to us. Clearly iPad is lagging behind in terms of pure hardware/specs. The Winner: The Galaxy Issue 4: The System/GUI This is where the TouchPad is the big winner. There is no question that the WebOS system is a glimpse into the future of what Tablets might be like in 3-5 years. The multi-tasking is wonderful [operating system::the * is good] , allowing you to slide through 'cards' of apps you are using and just pick up where you left off within each app. Wonderful, and it really makes you see the serious limitations of the iPad where you have to scroll through pages and pages of apps and open and close them when you want to switch. A terrible system [system::system] and a terrible way to navigate so many wonderful apps. Android is in the middle here, it has terrific abilities to customize screens and [general::have good * and] create widgets that are far more powerful than anything iPad can do, but Touchpad takes it to the next step to the point that you can almost taste the bridge to a PC-like experience. It's not quite there yet, and the system is still somewhat buggy, but it does the best job of making you feel like you are using a PC. Touchpad also has a neat notification system that is more fluid and seems less bothersome and 'naggy' than iPad and Anbroid's. One KEY area needs to be noted is the keyboard. TouchPad's keyboard is better and easier to use than iPad's but both are FAR behind the Droid's intuitive [usability::intuitive] and revolutionary 'Swype' technology. If you haven't seen or tried Swype, you should. For some people, this is reason enough to use Android. It makes text input a breeze. The Winner: TouchPad Issue 5: Price All three devices are priced similarly right now but you clearly get better bang for your buck with the Galaxy or TouchPad whose specs (screen resolution, memory) exceed iPad2. The Winner: Tie- TouchPad and Galaxy Issue 6: What do I buy? It makes sense to try and stay within your phone brand. You're missing out on so many great features by 'going out of network', but if that's not an issue, consider your app preferences. If you MUST have all the apps now, go with iPad. If you have faith that the apps will come for TouchPad (or Galaxy/Android) and have some patience, then by all means choose your preference between those devices. Issue 7: Ok, but between Galaxy vs. TouchPad Ok, you're forcing my hand here. It really is a tough choice, and depends on which things matter to you more (read above). But, gun to my head, although I LOVE the TouchPad, I have more faith in Android's app store future and just cannot bare lugging around another textbook. I graduated long ago.

Pros: Screen [display::screen] Res, Quick [quick::quick] , Full [full::full] Flash [flash::flash] , WebOs is amazing Cons: No rear cam [cam::cam] , No MS editing yet, Orientation lock in some apps Summary: This thing is great [general::the * is good] . I have had mine since last Friday and find myself reaching for it more than my iPhone. WEbOs is so great it makes me want a Pre 3, and i dont know what the reviewer was referring to when he said cards was under utilized....theyre great, speedy, and functional. Full flash works as advertised, I've gotten Hulu and HBOGO running so no problem there. I think if people get there hands on this thing Apple is in for a War on the tablet front..

HP operating system (WebOS) is not based on Android, in fact, it is completely different from android. Please do not post a review when you have no idea what you are talking about. Thanks I would recommend this to a friend!

Pros: Palm OS [operating system::palm os] is looking good! Powerful in such. Cons: Ceap cheap [build quality::cheap] cheap [build quality::cheap] . feels bad in the hands. A lot like the HP mini 1000 with its cheap screen. The hp 1000 would scratch on its on keyboard. Same here, bad/cheap [build quality::cheap] materials. Hp is real late to the market as well. I only see businesses giving em out when peop Summary: Dont get the hp.

WebOS is, hands down, the best operating system [operating system::operating system] one could find on a tablet! Its even better on this powerful device! It really is super speedy. True multi-tasking [operating system::multi-tasking] is incredible! Why hasn't Android or Apple implimented this yet???? Synergy is an awesome feature [feature set::features] , all my messages appear in one easy to use [usability::easy to use] app, even Facebook and Skype! Email works the same way! Soon every HP computer and printer will have WebOS (in addition to Windows), creating a huge ecosystem that I am proud to be an early adopter of with this TouchPad! The hardware itself is first class. With a real computer producer like HP finally putting their might behind a tablet that's to be expected! The price is right on par with the iPad 2, and yet side to side, its easy to see the power the TouchPad has over that device! Screen clarity and sharpness is the same or maybe even better than the iPad 2. And I can finally get access to the full web with flash, unlike any Apple device. Even though this device just came out there are already plenty of awesome apps to choose from in the app catalog! Since they use Citrix at my place of work, I can not only play, but get actual work done on my TouchPad! I recommend anyone in the market for a tablet check this awesome device [device::device] out! What's great about it:  Outstanding OS [operating system::os] , Very intuitive [usability::intuitive] , Most Powerful [powerful::powerful] , High Quality, Thin and light like a tablet should be What's not so great:  Lacks a rear camera (I'll stick to my phone anyway, holding a tablet up for a picture looks silly). I would recommend this to a friend!

I wont go to much into all the features of the device as you can just go to palm.com and see for your selves. So far I have it for 10 hours and it works great [reliability::it works great] , its fast, nice looking, and really easy to use [usability::easy to use] . My favorite feature [feature set::features] about it is that you don't need to purchase a data plan to be able to use it on the go. However right now it is not possible to use that feature as the palm pre 3 is not out. This device syncs with a palm pre 3 over the air. I bought this device because I am a developer and I am interested in writing apps for the device. If it was not for that I don't think i would have purchase it but only because I have plenty of other toys to play with. I don't care how many apps this or other tablets can run as I can not use it to do my daily work as a programmer. So pros WebOS - great OS [operating system::os] the only thing its missing is apps but wow is it good Great experience [general::experience] out of box - its all there Facebook, twitter, flash, email, etc Nice dock [dock::dock] Option to have a wireless keyboard Cons lack of apps screen [display::screen] not so good in the sun some features will only work if you also purchase a pre 3 Would I recommend this? Yes to someone that needs a device to read email, go on the internet, type (with keyboard), watch movies, play games, etc. Not for someone that needs a working machine. I also have an ipad2 and I like this better than that, well the OS [operating system::os] . Its a hard decision on what to buy, what ever you buy you will be stuck with it for a while. If I had to choose personalty I would wait until windows 8 comes out. That way I can get something similar but have full windows running also. But if I could not wait because I had nothing to use and needed a tablet I would buy this over ios/android/blackberry.

I've looked forward to the release of this device since it was announced in February. When the first (very mixed) reviews came out ahead of its release, I confess that I was very worried about how the device would perform. But that didn't stop me from picking up a top-of-the-line 32GB model from Best Buy on launch day -- and wow, there's just no substitute for hands-on quality time with a new gadget. I'm happy to report that the HP TouchPad is an attractive, intuitive [usability::intuitive] multitasking [operating system::multitasking] powerhouse. Those who truly like to 'think different' and stay off the iOS/Android bandwagons should take a seriously look at this device. WebOS has come a long way since Palm launched the Palm Pre in 2009, and it shines on HP's first tablet. All of the familiar WebOS innovations, cards, stacks, synergy, etc. are here and make for easy device setup [setup::setup] and intuitive [usability::intuitive] multitasking [operating system::multitasking] . The web browser (Flash-enabled!) is top-notch. Touchstone charging capability is built right in. Application load delay is minimal with the fast dual-core processor -- UI response to finger input is very quick, and if lag happens, it's likely due to media buffering. The hardware, which some reviewers derided as bloated or chunky, is actually quite gorgeous and feels good in the hand. Device thickness and weight (another pair of factors criticized by reviewers), are basically non-issues. The TouchPad's rounded back tapers in toward the edges, making it as easy to grip [build quality::grip] and hold as an iPad 2. The TouchPad weighs enough to feel substantial, but not so little as to feel cheap. The gloss black finish attracts a fair share of fingerprints, yes, but for many owners I suspect that will just be another good reason to protect their investment [price::investment] with a decent-fitting [build quality::fittings] case. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the TouchPad to anyone in the market for a first -- or even a second -- tablet. It has everything most tablet owners will use and it doesn't suffer for the gimmicky features it lacks (HDMI-out port, rear-facing camera). OS enhancements will come over the air and the app selection has room to grow -- but this is a quality device anyone can buy and start enjoying right away. What's great about it:  WebOS, Synergy, Fast Multitasking, Browser w/ Flash, Pairs for Calls w/ WebOS 1.45 Phones, Touchstone Charger What's not so great:  Kindle, QuickOffice, Netflix Apps Delayed, No Multiple User Profiles, SMS Requires Paired WebOS 2.2 Phone I would recommend this to a friend!

My girlfriend has a Ipad2 and I ended up using it a lot of time. I after doing some research and having a chance to use this at best buy I changed my mind about getting the Ipad. This device is amazing [device::the * is good] , it integrates with facebook and gmail syncing my contact. I am able to make calls on skype, I thought that was enough. I have alway been a fan of the pre and have owned one for awhile, to my suprise you get your phone calls to the tablet, a little incoming call pops up. I can't say enough good things about this device. HP went out to make it in the tablet market and they HIT THE GROUND RUNNING! What's great about it:  EASY TO USE [usability::easy to use] , CONNECTED TO EVERYTHING. What's not so great:  it didn't come out soon enough for me lol I would recommend this to a friend!

The first WebOS tablet, the HP Touchpad has finally arrived and it was worth the wait in my opinion. The Touchpad is blazing fast, has great new features such as sliding panels in apps, and has a gorgeous screen [display::screen] . all of the best parts of WebOS are there of course...great multitasking [operating system::multitasking] , wireless charging with the Touchstone dock, and the Touch to Share capabilities [capabilities::capability] with the Pre3 are fantastic [pre3::the * is good] ! If you are a WebOS fan or new to WebOSm, Palm and HP, then this is a must buy. oh yeah, with Box.net, every Touchpad owner will get 50 GB of free storage with them...as long as you have the account. that means a 32GB TP has 82 GB of storage in al with a $1.99 download of Box.net go get it! What's great about it:  great design [design::design] , WebOS, blazing fast, social netwrkng synergy, stacks, touch 2 share (w/Pre3), touchstone wireless charging What's not so great:  it is about as heavy as the first gen iPad, which is still pretty light I would recommend this to a friend!
